More Beach Art

I'm sure you guys are getting tired of my beach art posts, but I figure I would share since you would be the people who would get into it more since the shells were collected at the OBX.

You know how there are hundreds of the half snail shells on the beach?? (don't know the Latin term for them) I like to collect them for art projects as they glue down flat to surfaces. I found a cool 25 cent brass shadow box frame at a church rummage sale recently and glued in my half shells along with a piece of sea glass in the center. I olive oiled the sea glass as it was chalky to bring out the color. It's in my master BR in Frisco as of two weeks ago. I have brass sailboat figurines in there and needed something else with the brass color. E6000 glue is the bomb!

Happy shell collecting!!!!

Side view. It's only about 5 inches tall. Has a nice convex glass piece.

Thanks, Lolly! I'm an amateur, but it's a fun hobby and I have way too many shells!

And yet another....maybe to inspire younger people to try....not that I am any expert whatsoever!

Two baby shadow boxes I placed on my shabbied shelf in the upstairs bath in Frisco. One with all Frisco finds with the starfish and the other with odd but cool wing type shells glued onto a piece of tie dye. Also, I found a Willow Tree girl in a thrift shop without her wares in her hand so I added a tiny shell and a small piece of green sea glass onto it to brighten her up. I love looking at them! Very very inexpensive and fills my time!

And another piece that I put in a shadow box and placed in our sitting room upstairs on our book shelf.

Our old neighbor in Avon 20 years ago was a scuba diver and would bring us cool shells after her dives in Hatteras. Well, one time she brought us this. May have been illegal to keep, but we didn't know. Hubby printed off the verbiage online about the situation and I glued it in the shadow box with backdrop paper. Pretty darn cool!!
