Dude, we all THINK it, we just don't talk it (specific early stage storms)...we're due, waaay overdue, and we all know it.

I get it though, juggling remote water assets makes the pucker huge.

I guess the northern part of the coastline is way overdue. Farther south, Ocracoke has been hammered by flooding with Dorian in '19. Hatteras had Isabelle inlet form between there and Frisco and New Inlet re-opened temporarily on Pea Island about ten years ago. If you look at how narrow the coast is in some places up north, and think about what an inlet could do there (even if temporary) it'll get your attention.

It's smart to plan and I trust Ryan Hall more than someone reading a script. Ask Floridians about why they do hurricane prep. Waiting until three days before means you could be s.o.l. or worse.

I'm praying the spaghetti models are correct! You never know how it could wobble towards us. Hope that cool stream does it's thing and sends it out to sea hurting no one. Darn!!!!

I'm really wigging about this one and cannot sleep. But I have insomnia and can't sleep anyway and up half the night so whatever. Just gives me more time to worry. I cannot change nature so what the heck. Fossil fuel emissions up 20 percent in the last 1.5 years in US, but that shouldn't be the explanation. Its just climate.

Late-cycle tracks all in close agreement that Lee will continue to travel WNW for the next 5 days. Cat 5 with 165 mph sustained, gusting to 200 mph.
Not expected to weaken much or may also intensify; the predictions are weak at this stage.

Good luck, beachbumz. Watching the track now and they are "saying " no hit to the mid Atlantic states, but possibility hitting northeast states. But, you never know. Praying the cold front pushes it further to the east while travelling up the coast. Have a safe trip!!
