Is the nags Head Surf Fishing Club Tourney in October at 1 location or at spots up and down the beaches? I couldn’t find the details on the web pages.

They put numbered stakes up every several hundred feet or more for miles. It’s my understanding that teams are assigned a number for the morning session and a different one for the afternoon. Don’t quote me on it as I’ve not fished it, but it is in front of the house so I’ve seen it underway for some years.

One morning as I came over the board walk and saw all the fishermen (and women), the closest guy said to me “don’t worry, we’ll be gone by noon”. It was my first time seeing the tournament and how many people are in it!

If you're trying to enjoy the beach (without fishing) during that time, good luck. At a previous NH fall tournament, we had trucks pull up right on us as if we were in the way, even though we were there first.
