It's been chilly here all weekend, Bent. Had a fire going Friday and Saturday but too tired tonight to bother. After three days of yard and garden work, we needed a little special treat. Mom's biscuits made in Mom's cast iron pan was perfect.

Same here!!! We've been off of our low carb diet since Christmas, and are trying to get back to it, but this was my pineapple upside down Easter cake cooked in my cast iron skillet. Slid right out!

You are the best cook I have ever seen!!! This pineapple upside down cake was a recipe from my MIL who was born in 1917 and was a fabulous cast iron skillet cooker lady! I had the best MIL!

She was the consummate southern lady and gave me all of her recipes that I have passed down to my children. In her own writing from the 1940's which I have printed in her handwriting for them.

Nice thing to say, Mrs B. My mother's family was from the south and they loved to cook so that's where I get it from. Everyone pitched in to get supper ready.
