Love the parade but always wish more high school bands would participate, especially First Flight. Any idea why they don't?

I'm a big Parade Lover and have attended for 20 years. Yes also a lover of Bands. The absence of the First Flight Band goes back quite a few years to various incidents that the band encountered with bystanders. One year they had the Elizabeth City State Marching Band, Wow, Wow, Wow! There are the Pipers from Virginia. I give credit to the other HS Bands. Bear Grass is Excellent, Manteo and you also have a very small contingent from Columbia. That's it. Currituck has a great Band but doesn't march. Unfortunately Parade participation with certain groups has dropped. The South Nags Head White Trash Band has been on and off. Fire Department participation was real big now not so much. Mostly Businesses, Church Groups. I Love A Parade.

Our radio club has helped out since I joined them in 2000 and I was at every parade after (except those covid years). I never went to the after party, Kelly's would give each of us a $25 gift certificate though.

Nice Bug. The graphics are well done. I've never been a fan of trailer queens. Lamb has 1 year to get it running for the next parade.

It runs! I have no idea why they put it on a trailer. I saw it on the trailer but thought it was just to transport it there.

My personal trip report is that the parade was really wonderful.
My favorites throws were bananas, Kitty Hawk green striped Bagels, Lost Colony dark beer, Joe Lamb potholders, Village t-shirt and shopping bag. The Grands all had full bags of throws from candy to balls, glasses, rings, Kelly's sweet potato biscuits and more.
After the parade I talked to the kiddos about what their favorite was. My Grandson said it was the kindness of the nice lady standing next to him.
For those that have never attended you would have a great time and meet lots of wonderful people attending and marching.
Thanks to Kelly's for keeping the tradition going.
