We have been watching this for the past few weekends and tonight is the Championship Game...we beat Japan! I love watching these games and seeing the enthusiasm but it is also hard to see the heartbreak with the losing team!

how about that little kid pitcher!!!!!

He was great! They were saying that he was playing ping-pong with the Japan's pitcher and lost so I guess he had to prove himself on the field!!! His dad made me cry in the post-game interview!

That kid did an awesome job. He certainly has a strong arm and great control of his piutches and his emotions. The Japan team had not lost a game in over a year. I guess that's what happens whne you come to America and face a team of "good old SOuthern Georgia boys

BTW..did anyone besides me want to take the pitcher (as good as he was...) and pull his butt to the dugout and turn his hat around straight and tell him he would not take the mound again until he looked like a baseball player and not a thug??

I think it was this pitcher that the commentators made a comment about his cap.....he had some sort injury/disease/condition on his head/forehead years ago and that turning his cap a little made him feel better.

This slightly turned cap thing just continued on.

I am not saying this is an excuse, just stating the facts as I (think) I heard them.

So maybe I would have felt a tad different if I had heard that, BUT I still am a stickler for wearing the uniform proudly and correctly. I just have this thing about baseball uniforms. I expect them to be be "old school" as opposed to the thuggish style that basketball uniforms have become.

Here's what I found. But I'm confused about one thing. Does he still have a shunt? Or was it just in his early childhood? And if it isn't still there, why not wear the uniform correctly now?

Bottom line is that I am an old dog with you as well. I have problems with anyone who doesn't wear the uniform "correctly". I like traditional unis much more than today's stuff. Don't like names on unis. Love the high socks/leggings/stockings....not those pants that come down to the shoes. Enough already with all the heavy gold chains hanging out over the uni. No DH. Natural grass. Jump ball. OK I'll stop now.

When he is allowed he always wears his pants up!!! I am the same old school....wear the uniform with respect and wear it right! This was at the end of a long showcase day. He spent a week at camp with alot of HS and college coaches...and yes it was worth it, the phone calls and letters have started coming

I agree about the uniforms. One boy on my middle sons team would wear his pants down over the back of his spikes. I wanted to strangle him and his mother. His coach made them wear them long. Now my youngest can still wear pants up and he's about the only one on the team that does.
As far as the baseball caps, my oldest wore his once to the side (I repeat once), because his father gave him the what not about ever wearing it like that again!!! lol

2 of my boys were catchers, tough to turn those hats! lol

I think catcher is one of the hardest positions to play! It amazes me that they can get from that position and throw!!! And still make the out!!!!

I agree! My middle son got burnt out from it (or could be he put on some weight and it was too hard to get up)!!
My youngest,in the picture,was just getting in the grove toward the end of the season. They wouldn't even send the runner on him!!

What do you mean "allowed"? Team rules against showing sock?

Robert, The team as a whole decides how to wear their pants. It is for team unity.He loses everytime. LOL Same thing on game days. The team decides what to wear to school on game days...jeans or khakis,red shirt or blue shirt..that kind of thing.

Nothing like a feared catcher/pitcher combo!!!

Ours isn't even the team, it's the coach that decides.

Mine always wears his pants up. My other pet peeve is boys who will come t a game with no socks!! Bare legs are not a part of a baseball uniform!
