My downfall is chips, crackers and the like. One tough thing about the low carb diet is that you eventually get sick of the foods you can eat on it. Let me give two tips that have made it a lot easier for me:

1. Low carb wraps. The ones I buy only have 5g of net carbs and are a great bread substitue. I really missed being able to make a sandwich. The wraps are a good substitue.

2. Low carb ice cream bars. Breyers makes good ice cream bars called Carb Smart. They work when you you need a sweet fix.

Those two items alone can make the low carb diet much more tolerable.

The sugar-free candies can be a good "sweet tooth" fix too....but be careful not to eat too many Confused smiley . That malatol really loosens things up Laughing smiley

I love the sugar-free turtles...yum! Also, Ice Breakers mints are sugar-free and allowed on low carb diets.

Will, a great addition to those low-carb wraps:

3/4 C low fat mayo
some jarred roasted red peppers (just add to taste)

blend or put in the food processor until smooth, use it as a spread - YUMMY!! Big grin

be very careful of the sugar free candies some of them are high in carbs. Baskin 31 robbins sugar free hard candy for just 4 is 15 grahms We also do the bryers low carb ice cream. Sugar free popcycles are a good quick fix. Sugar free jello ,sugar free pudding with fat free milk, Butterscott is our favorite.

we lay porkrinds out on a cookie sheet and cover them with shredded cheese...broil 'til bubbly and remove. And a little salsa and sour cream and you'll be surprised... it's porkrinds Big grin nacho's!!!!!

I'm not an expert on carbs but know I'm likely addicted - doughnuts, cini-minis, cake, cookies, etc.

I'll look for those ice cream bars.
