I was strolling through the local flea market-per the request of my daughter's- on Sunday, and a man had photo albums filled with memorabelia... what do I find but a photo shot under a pier.... I recognized it at once- a photo shot underneath Nags Head Pier.. I have taken and seen so many that I knew it at once.. he said "your right!!". He had 4 more photos.. one of the pier from the side, one of an annonymous house, and I forget the other 2. I would have purchased them all to show you but he wanted 12.95 for EACH of them.. I think that's just a little overboard.. I'm not sure of the date of them. they do appear to be slightly older.. What would you all have done? OBX is everywhere !!! and they wonder why I'm obsessed...lol

Hi obxcrew! How cool you found photos at a flea market. Love going to those markets. You are so right about the price. It would be hard for me to spend over 50.00 for 4 photos. For me it would depend on the time frame the photos were taken and I would probably lean more to the photo of the house for historical purposes unless there were some other period pieces in the photo with the pier, like people wearing period bathing suits or a car/cars. If there were other things besides the pier that help to tell a story about that time period, I would not purchase for history sake, but if it is a pier shot that you enjoy simply for the waves hitting the pilings, the birds flying and the sun rising, I would have picked my favorite one and bought that one. Don't know if that helps you, but it is what I would have done. Now you got my curiosity up and I want to see them. :smiley40:

hoi, they were just photos.. no matting..good condition as I remember.. in a photo album. With, get this, pics of the Bee Gees, and Rambo, stuff like that.. so I'm guessing 80s or so..lol roanoke, I like the photos. but sometimes these people try to rook people.. this man was very nice, told me he lived there for 9 years, and then left ubruptly.. couldn't figure out what happened and didn't want to pry.. I may go back and ask him what he would take for the best ones.. I really did like them..If he will come down a little , I'll post them... I will say Patrick Swayze was looking mighty fine though..lol
