I discovered the "ride at 5". Actually they meet daily at the Food Lion across from Home Depot at 5:30AM:smiley53: and do a 16 mile loop; down the beach road to MP 8.5, across the south side of Wright Brothers monument then back up by way of 1st St, Bay Drive, West Kitty Hawk Rd, and Woods Rd. About a 55 minute ride with the pace in the 16-21 mph range (so best suited for those with at least some minor experience). No traffic fears at that time, especially with a pack of 6 to 10 riders all lit up. A great calorie burner for us aging folk, easy on the joints, and it's pretty neat riding the beach road with everything quiet in the pre-dawn. Anyone welcome. Pic on the way back on W Kitty Hawk Rd. Cheers -Dave

5:30 AM! I get up early, but I don't know about riding that early. I'd be worried about bleary-eyed drivers running me over. It's good to hear that you are adjusting to life on the beach. It must be nice. Cheers, Will
