Does anyone know how Southern Shores faired with the hurricane? We have a rental property on Clam Shell Trail and are wondering how our wonderful neighbors are making out. Our hearts and thoughts go out to everyone on OBX.

SPoek with friends o Bayberry in S.S. this morning and there is a lot of tree damage in the area. Lots of big ones that have fallen in yards and on homes. Our friends said they faired much better than others because just a 1 tree hit the garage and only lost a few shingles from it......but what a mess.

Southern Shores came out pretty good where we are with just trees and some damage to homes from them. I got to the ocean front this morning at Hictory and the dune line around there and as far as I could see north and south is mostly gone along with ALL dune decks and walkways to the beach.(that I could see)Duck north from what I hear came out of it in good shape also.

no flooding on the sound side at all and we're very very lucky for that because ALL the water in the sound was out of here.

jim, an aquaintance of ours drove past our house today and said he didnt see any damage. he didnt mention any damage to the homes on the street. he is supposed to go back and walk around the house this afternoon so i'll ask him if he noticed your home while he was there. he said mostly shinge and vinyl siding problems to some homes. otherwise, lots of trees down in the woods. overwash at the lifeguard post at chicahauk trail. i was thinking about going down today but there is a curfew till noon tommorrow. if he says he didnt see any damage, i wont go.
