Hey Melody, Wow these pictures are fantastic. I love seeing the old pictures when there were fewer buildings. Seeing the comments on the back of the cards is fun too. Are most of these old pictures and postcards in the Outer Banks History Center? I've got to visit there someday when we are back in the US. I'll enjoy looking at these in the days ahead! THANKS!!!!! :smiley40:

I enjoy the old postcards and would rather have one with a message, from back in the day, than a mint unused one. They're like a time capsule. Thanks for sharing...

"This is sure an interesting place." And it still is, even with time marching on. Thanks for the gorgeous pics AND oh my, what "different" postcards. 1 cent stamps & the earlier one that didn't require an address for delivery! I see the visitors were still from the v. same states that we see today. It's of note how MANY ships are in the harbor...WOW. Roanokeis- do you think The Castle is just out of view in the pic looking from the lighthouse, right hand mid-way corner where one can almost see the bend in the shore?
