A site that will help you plan

I never had to watch my wieght, in fact, keeping weight on was usually the problem. That said, I gained 10 pounds at age 50 when I quit the hormones and another 10 when I quit smoking. So now here I am at 145 when my ideal is 120-125 and it doesn't seem like I eat much--a light breakfast and dinner which is frequently focused on seafood and veggies. Even the doctor said I would likely have to see how my matablism settled in and either live with the rolls or do hours in the gym. Ok, so to the heart of the matter, I found a web site that allows you to enter your some basic information then set a goal. The result is a plan. For me to loose 20 pounds over the next 4 months it said 1,200 to 1,550 calories per day. What an eye opener. After entering a bowl of cereal, coffee, my daily intake of wine, and my chocolate calcium chews I had alread accumulated 667 calories. On the one night I went to game night and ate about a cup of pretzel pieces over the 4 hour period I totalled 2,300 calories. Since I started I have been using the site to plan and to allow a treat when I am below the goal of 1,550. It also has an activity section and that is a real hoot when you go over and it tells you to revisit your calorie intact. Anyhow, here it is. There is a free section to sign up. Weigh in Started with a web site called StarkPeople around March 20 weighing in at 145. Set a goal of 125 and used the site to track my calories eaten and burnt. Today's weigh in--125 on the button--lost 20 pounds.Click to follow link..." class="img-responsive" /> Now I have to decide if I should shoot for 120 as the owner of the scale says it is off by 5 pounds. At my physical the doctor's scale read 3 more than the one I am using.

"LIVE WITH THE ROLLS" i am in the same situation at you are, except i haven't quit smoking yet and i don't like that statement. i could used to lose at least 20 preferably 30 pounds, but nothing seems to be working. i thought it was hard after 30, now at 45 - in menepause due to surgery - migranes and a few other issues, it's just NOT EASY and nothing seems to be working! i think i'll have to look at this!

Me too. I stayed a size 5 until I was 38, even afer 5 kids, but it's been slow and steady ever since. In the past 10 years I've gained about 45 puonds. I probably needed some of that, but I'd really like to lose 25 - 30. I'll be 49 in a couple of weeks and I reallly need to quit smoking. I'm trying to lose some weight first because I know I'll gain around 6 pounds when I quit. (Can you tell I've done this before?) I'll definitely give the site a try. I've also been surprised at how much the calroies add up, when I don't think I'm eating that much.

That's what I thought in 2002 when I went off the hormones I had been on since the hysterectomy, then in 2004 after the mastectomy but at 55 with all this chit, this site made me stick to my guns and control my calorie intake and use differential. If I can do it you girls can. Now the real test will be if I can do as I used to and maintain my wieght without watching everything I do--as I used to prior to age 50 and sudden menopaus.

I joined yesterday. Let's see if it works. They seem to think that if I follow their plan, I can lose 46 pounds in 8 months. I think they're not considering beer at the beach, but I'm willing to give it a try. I think that being accountable will help.
