Charlie and James Williams are the men in the first photo. I knew them well. Not sure if thats Monroe - James grandson with them. The Two sisters belonged to James, I went fishing with him several times as a child. Charlie was blind but you could take him out on the water and he knew exactly where he was and he always caught more clams than anybody using only his feet.
The second photo is of Jame's back and I think the preacher of the Assembly of God church at the time. I can't remember his name.
My parents and I stayed at Charlies cabins in the 60's. I don't have pictures because their home burned down in the early 80s, but I sure remember Charlie! My Mom teased a crab in a bucket with a little twig and got badly pinched....really latched on to her thumb! My dad cleaned fish in the yard behind the cabins, and drew every stray cat on the island it seemed. I agree that even blind, Charlie always came home with the most clams. The cabins are still there, but not the same, of course. Thank you so much for the fond memories!
