I was headed out for my nightly walk and jog I'm up to over a mile now down from January by 40 pounds. But tonight as I was headed out I spotted this in a mulberry tree at the end of the driveway . I wasn't afraid of it alone but it was just a baby, Mom might have been around that I was afraid of so I jogged back home got my camera and my truck for protection in case mom showed up and got these. I later returned home loaded my gun and headed out in another direction, I wasn't going to shoot just for my protection if I needed it .

Sounds like a good excuse to me. It's been about 2 weeks since the game commission set a trap for the bear we saw, and they haven't caught him yet. He (or another bear) did trigger the trap, cause the property owner heard it slam shut and when he opened the door and shined his flashlight to investigate, there stood the bear beside the trap! Congrats on the weight loss and keep up the good work!

I'm in the Mountain of Va the tree was along the road just below our home. Had one in the front yard a few weeks ago wife had to call game warden to scare him off I was away fishing on Ocracoke and it wouldn't leave on his own. Hung around for 2 1/2 hrs before game warden showed up and shot a rubber bullet towards him .

Fish, I know what you mean. We have them all the time. We've had a mama bear the last three years with triplets (don't know if it's the same one or different ones). The little guys will climb the trees in the yard and I thank God that I have a very high deck with no steps. We can watch them without worrying. Mama does get a little annoyed sometimes and we go inside just in case. Here's a pic with two of them. I had a really hard time getting all three in the same shot. BTW, great job with the weight loss.
