A place to live?

Suppose I found a job (or telecommuted) somewhere on the OBX or Roanoke Island. Suppose I wasn't otherwise well off, but wasn't exaclty poor either.

Where would I live? Is there housing availible for low-mid to middle class folks? Are there rentable townhouses/condos/apartments for year-round residents? Would I be forced to live on the main-land and cross the bridge everyday to my job?

Just thinking out-loud. Maybe this will get our minds off Isabel.

Ace: Thought about that myself when I applied for some jobs there. Unless you have lots of money the ocean area is out of the question. Checked Colington and that wasn't bad, as well as right across the Wright Bridge, reasonable and some places have a bit of property. Doesn't seem like the area has many year round rentals or apartments but maybe if I checked into it further there were some. I just scratched the surface with my checking and if you looked hard enough you could find something you liked at a price you could swing.
