but the Hatterasonmymind site has a couple of new updates on it, absolutley horrendous pictures of the lower end of Hatteras Island. You aal up on the Northern end got away in fairly good shape compatively speaking wouldnt you say, especially Kim and Steve?

Comparatively speaking you're right. They definately got hammered down there.They were the closest to the eye in the upper right quadrant. The worst place to be if you're on the coast.
Kimco and I only have to worry about trees, mostly pines that seem to take the wind fairly well.
But, K.H. and S.N.H got slammed pretty good too.
Then again, who's comparing? Someone that lost a home on the north end won't be.

Steve that wasnt my intent, there is no doubt that you all took one hell of a pounding with the diameter of that storm, pleas dont take offense, I have been opn pins and needles over that end of the island since we knew where it was going to come ashore.

I've seen reports and images from Hatteras and the northern beaches, but nothing on Ocracoke. When Isabelle hit the Weather Channel was talking about the proximity to the island, and the first reports after the storm described a lot of damage and that the inhabitants were cut-off. Any news?

The is town did all right but the north end of the island didn't they lost a lot of road and power poles too here is a site that will help you more
