The highlight of our year for the last five years has been the week that we spend at The Schwind on Sutton Place with as many of our kids and their spouses/special friends as can come from great distances to be with us. It is never enough time, but we all truly love the time we have together eating, grilling, reading, puzzle-making, biking, jogging - in short just bonding away from the rest of our busy and diverse lives. I have appreciated so much hearing on this board about the places that are special to us - Rocco's, Lee Robinson's, Midgett's, etc.
We are worried about the condition of the neighborhood around Woodall and are also wondering how Hatteras Landing/Ferry area is doing, as well as Nedo and the grocery store just north of there. Also wondering about a little shop where we buy seafood that is at someone's home - off a side street on the east side of Hwy 12 just a bit north of Robinson's store. Sorry I can't remember the name of it.
I checked the Light Keeper Gallery website last night and it sounds like they will be ready to open when the road is open; until then it sounds like they can handle web orders. That may be true also for other stores, just haven't heard about them.
Thanks so much for any info you can provide to worried OBX lovers in VA, GA, MA and CA. I truly feel guilty that I can't come help clean up an area that has come to mean so much to us.
