Well, here we are..our first full day here in Corolla. Spent the day at the beach, took two bike rides, watched the kids play in the pool. As many have posted before me, there is hardly any noticeable damage here, few trees down here and there and of course the beach access steps have either been rebuilt or will be soon. The steps here from the Corolla Light Resort have been rebuilt and split off to the left and right, whereas they used to go straight down. Nice touch! We have had some problems with our house here, just maintenance stuff, but I don't care...we're here!!!

There seemed to be something going on a ways down the beach this afternoon, there was quite a crowd gathered. Hope everything was okay.

Okay, need to go have dinner!!

We could have bumped into each other. I Went down Thursday at the last minute and just got back tonight. It was actually warm enough to lay out and read at the Corolla light pool yesterday. I also like the new step design better. They have done a great job getting Corolla light back to normal. Have a great trip. Tip back a few Corolla Golds for us all.

How funny! I took my kids to the pool yesterday afternoon, and there was a couple reading by the pool!! Was that you??

Anyway, it has been fabuluos. We all went crabbing today off of one of the soundside piers. We caught about a dozen all 6 inches or bigger. Oh, how the kids squealed! I cannot wait to get home and share my pics with you all. The sunsets have been breathtaking. Tonight I was able to snap a pic of a blue heron walking in the sound. When we were at the beach today, the tide came in so high, it chased us away. It came up to the beach steps! The waves were absolutely enormous, with a very strong undertow. I wouldn't let the kids in too far, but my husband and father in law braved the waves!

As you all know, this is such a magical, special place!

Must not have been me by the pool. Since my trip was last minute, I went down by myself due to the kids being in school and busy with activities and sports. (No wife this trip) My "excuse" was to check the house for damage. After I spent about 2 minutes doing that I spent the rest of the time relaxing. Glad to hear you had a great time.
