Trying to find motivation

I am trying to find enough motivation to start exercising again. Either that or buy new clothes. Does anyone have any tips in something that makes them want to exercise? Right now due to my work schedule and the weather, all I can manage is to use the elliptical machine at night. I wish I had an exercise buddy that would hold me accountable to do this at least 5 times a week. Doe anyone know of a group or want to start one here?

Last year's bathing suits works for me... and talking back to the voice in my head that says gee, I'm too tired to do this right now... it can wait until tomorrow.

I tell it that's how I added the extra 20 lbs and to mind it's own business. I get more energy when I even just take 10 mins to stretch... than if I keep on "resting". (I need to talk back to "it" more often!!)

But it's hard, especially with the seesaw weather we're having - my sinuses make even stretching a little tricky! LOL...

I've always done best when signed up for a class - yoga, pilates, Zumba, etc. If it were solely up to me, I'd never make it.

My husband used to exercise regularly because it actually made him feel better even though it wasn't his goal to lose weight.

Good luck. Spring is coming. Doesn't that give everyone motivation? Sun

I've always been the "workout" type, but the past few years I've really slacked off. I've just started trying to get back into shape and I'd love to lose 5-10lbs by summer. I've just been watching what I eat and walking on the treadmill every night. Last night I was so into what I was reading I walked for an hour and didn't even realize it! I just keep thinking of summer and how I USED to look..that's motivation enough for me!! Gonna eat breakfast and head to the gym now smiley Good luck!

Dedicate yourself to 120 minutes a week (the recommended amount). Do 3 days or 4 days but get it in. Mark each day you walk on a calendar with the amount of minutes, then at the end of the week, see how you did. It seems silly but it works!

Most of us will get out and walk so we can log it in smiley See what you think and let me know, K?
