Friday 4-6-12 Weight Loss Thread!

I posted this last year...this was my routine last year, and I'm doing it again this year...

Last year I joined a "Biggest Loser" type class. There were about 12-15 people in the class, and we all threw about $40 each. Whoever lost the biggest percentage of weight in 12 weeks was to win $250, 2nd place $150.

Here are some things I did to lose over 25 pounds, and come in 2nd place

My typical day was...

7:00AM - rode exercise bike for 30 minutes at a low intensity. Drank 1.5 liters of water during this time. Every 5 minutes I would guzzle water.

7:45AM - ate 3 egg whites, some rediculously high fiber cereal, took a vitamin and fish oil pill

10:00AM - ate greek yogurt mixed with fat free cottage cheese...not as nasty as it sounds...pretty good actually!

12:00PM, 2PM, 4PM - ate a mixture of grilled chicken, veggies and black beans.

6:30PM - on weight lifting days, I would eat oatmeal mixed with some apple sauce, with a protien shake. On non weight lifting days, tuna fish on whole wheat bread.

9:00PM - on weight lifting days (Mon Wed Fri) I'd lift weights for an hour, then do low intensity training on my stationary bike. Other days, I'd do 30 minutes of high intensity interval training on the bike.

10:30PM - non weight days = drink water, weight days = protien shake, peanut butter sandwich haha, mozzarella cheese stick thingy for a snack.

I also drank about 4-6 liters of water a day.

I did all my exercise/weight lifting at home.

I prepared all my meals ahead of time, not a few minutes before I had to go to work.

You will NOT get all muscular by lifting weights (unless you are eating to gain muscle). You WILL lose fat.

If you diet, exercise, drink lots of water, lift weights, etc, you could potentially lose 5+ pounds in the first week, but a lot of that could be just water weight, so dont be discouraged when you weigh in after your second week. I lost 6.8 pounds my first week, then less than four in my second week!

Feel free to ask me any questions...I am doing this routine again this year (started 2.5 weeks ago) so i'll be ready for my OBX vacation in August woohoo!

I should say, I dont do the tuna fish anymore...that is just disgusting. I am starting to cook some other cool stuff, like turkey burgers with giant slices of tomato, or chicken, tomatoes and low fat cheddar in a quesadilla yum! Jalapenos are cool too!

I don't do the oatmeal thing anymore either...I actually just mix oatmeal oats into a giant glass with milk and protein powder...I let the oats sit in the milk so they get soggy, then drink it all down.

I am also guzzling TONS of water. Whenever I am hungry, I drink lots of water. It helps!

I glommed the interval spacing off some exercise website - I put this timer on and hop on my stationary bike. I want to cry when I am done with this routine. I only do it every other morning.

Down 0.6lbs.

My total was wrong last week. It was 13.8, not 12.8, which makes my total now 14.4lbs lost.

I was BAD....for two weeks...and it showed on the scale today. LOL! But I have been faithfully working out even if I was not so faithful to my ww plan so nothing I can't fix in a week or two on the scale.
