My doc wants me to lose 80lbs more than I have already lost (15lbs so far). I will officially be joining WW next week and using the family's YMCA pass to start exercising on a more routine basis.
I'm actually looking forward to tackling this. Hopefully, this time next year I'll be 80lbs lighter.

Hi, I know how you feel, I have always had to battle the waistline. Just remember to always feel proud of what you are doing! It just takes time. Remember it takes time, I can understand how hard it is, and its hard, but just take it one day at a time. The best thing I started doing, was also taking a walk every day I could. Mark out a walk with your car for distance, and even at the beginning, a little dieting and walking, and the weight will come off. Try to set aside 30-60 minutes a day for this. You are worth it when it comes to your health. twice in my life (im 48) I have shed 80 pounds, and am sill trying to keep it off. Matter of fact I just got in from my walk, had to bundle up, its cold up here again. If I cant walk outside I try to go do a mall. Just don't give up! Soon you will feel better, and have more energy!
also, at the start dont overdo it and hurt yourself, and starving is the worst thing to do also!
slow and steady wins the race! best of luck!

I dug up this post from April 2012. So, it's been 13.5 months since that post and almost 16 months since I started trying to lose weight. I've lost a total of 96.8lbs (81.4 with Weight Watchers).
My doctors are pleased. My high blood pressure remains a problem, but my most recent labs were good.
I don't have a more recent before/during pic, but this one is from March 1st when I was at a grand total of 80.8lbs gone.

Yeah! You see with P.M.A. Positive Mental Attitude you can do anything! While the blood pressure is still a problem, I bet its getting easier to control? Glad to hear the success. You and your family should be very proud of you.

Well, my blood pressure was perfect with my old medication. But, it needed to be changed for near future plans and we're having a go at regulating with the new meds.

Not down at all, just a hurdle to mow down...which I did this week.

Plus, I'm only 2.2lbs away from 100lbs gone smiley
