Just wanted to thank them for welcoming this roadie wannabe (I ride mountain bikes, both trail and downhill) into their group ride again this year. I think that this is my 4th year getting out with them. They really make me dig road riding. I have learned a lot about the ins and outs of paceline riding with this group.
So, just wanted to put up a "Thank You!" post to this dedicated group! The 5:30 Crew!!!! It is appreciated!

It is a nice group and a nice ride, although gettin up before 5 can be interesting. Haven't been out with them for 3 years but plan on it this fall.

Definitely a choice while on vacation... It is EARLY for vacation... BUT, I chose to ride three times this past week... My wife is a runner.... I am out and back before the family is even thinking about getting up. Including my wife who likes to get out early before the heat gets started. I even have time to hit Front Porch Café for coffee! Then? I have the WHOLE day ahead of me for family time! Little tired in the afternoons but the ride leaves me the freedom to eat what I want for dinner from places like Food Dudes! Best food going on OBX right now IMO.
