Ok - this will probably be easy for most of you.

This question has to do with the relatively recent past... say 1991-1992. One of my stops when driving down from VaBeach was always Kitty Hawk Kites. It seems to me that the store use to be on the ocean, rather than where it is now (I'm talking the KDH store). Is that true?? There was a period from ~92 or 93 until 2011 that I was absent from the banks... so I didn't really see the development take place. But it seems that it was natural in color, on stilts (you had to walk up to enter) - and on the ocean. Anyone have any pictures of it back then?

Kitty Hawk Kites has been its current location for over 25 years. I really don't remember a KDH store

You really got me going on this one. I know it's Christmas Day, but I made a bunch of phone calls to some 20 to 30 year beach residents. They all said there was no Kitty Hawk Kites store in KDH on the Ocean side of the beach road. I do think there was a kite store in Sea Holly Square which was on the other side of the beach road. There also was a very nice toy store that sold some expensive kites in the Galleon stores in Nags Head. Do you have a specific MP or are you sure it was Kitty Hawk Kites? I would be very surprised if I'm wrong.

Ok... sounds like something is jumbled up in my head, then. I thought it was a KHK store... but maybe not. It may have been that toy store, pickle. I bought some magic tricks, and my friend bought his first set of "devil sticks" there. We also bought some juggling items. Was there a time when the KHK store was more stand alone and didn't have the shopping center attached to it as it does now? Maybe I have the ocean front part of it wrong...
