Do you drink enough water? I don't but trying to add more. I mean what is the real recommendation? I have heard everything from 8 glasses a day to your body weight equivalent in ounces everyday. Total liquid I probably do 48 ounces.

I have a 24 oz water bottle that I bought at Kitty Hawk Kites, and I drink the thing probably 4 times on an average day during the week - one in the morning on my way to work, one during lunch, and two more in the evening. If I'm drinking alcohol in the evening, I'll drink more. I find that if I'm taking in alcohol, and I don't drink enough water, that I don't sleep. Keep in mind that I'm not getting drunk, just having 2 - 3 glasses of red wine.

During the summer, I will drink more, and when we're on vacation on the OBX, I will easily take in 200+ oz in a day. 50 oz while riding the bike, and then because we typically drink more wine, I'll drink even more water.

The only time I drink plain water, however, is when I'm riding my bike. I add the orange Mio, or orange Crush water enhancer.

I think it's hard to determine what an appropriate amount is as individuals vary by their weight/activity level and other things. The way I can tell if I'm not taking in enough water is that I'll wake up in the night with my calves cramping up.

There's no way at my weight that I'm drinking half my body weight in oz of water. I drink 80-112oz/day, averaging around 96oz/day. 95% of the time I'm drinking it without the mix-ins. Pizza, Chinese food, and popcorn require something more than just plain water.

It is advisable to drink around 2 to 3 liters of water everyday, that makes 10-13 glasses. You can also go for fresh spring water provided by Samantha Springs for more health benefits.

I drink 6-7 liters a day while dieting. It helps me feel full so I don't want to eat more.

John Doe sitting at a desk in a climate controlled office needs less than the same person jogging or riding a bike or filling sandbags.

There is no magic number that is correct for everyone.

A pregnant or nursing female needs more fluids than if she was not pregnant or nursing.

Remember, you can drink too much water.
