Sooooooo I guess your point is you believe that the closures at CHNS are excessive and the NPS should let "people go about their recreation while coexisting with the birds"
I was just quoting the article (hence the quotation marks).
I do not know the scope of time in your visits to CHNS...
Well then, let me fill you in. I've stayed on Hatteras Island (Avon, Buxton, Frisco, Hatteras) in the months of February, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, and November, since 1962. My first trip to the island was via ferry. How about you?
I stand guilty of not reading your link; however I did have the "mental focus" to read the CHNS NPS DEIS and FEIS and I am sure you did also rite?
I believe you meant "right." And yes, I have read them; that's how I know I have a problem with them.
It is because we did stop worrying that created the species of the piping plover to become threatened yes?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Your words: Back on topic, I believe the point of the article is that excessive closures are less effective than just letting people go about their recreation while coexisting with the birds. But then, some folks may not have the mental focus to read something with that many words. After all, it is a long article. ... end of your words
I do not see any quotation marks in the above message when you originally posted it, do you? sooooooo again I am assuming that is YOUR opinion that closures are excessive at CHNS, yes?
Sooooooooooo thanks for filling me in on all those months you list as a visitor at CHNS. Were those visits in the same year or did they consist of a week or two each year? Sometime it is not what someone sez, it is what someone doesn't say, yes?
naw, I meant "rite" and if wanting to nitpick on my grammer makes ya feel better, then go for it. If you read the DEIS and the FEIS I would imagine that from your post: "just letting people go about their recreation while coexisting with the birds." you want the ORV management plan at CHNS scrapped. If you indeed did read up on ORV management at CHNS, ya gotta know that:
"Executive Order 11644 of 1972, amended by Executive Order 11989 of 1977, requires certain federal agencies permitting ORV use on agency lands to publish regulations designating specific trails and areas for this use. Title 36, section 4.10 of the Code of Federal Regulations implements the executive orders by providing that routes and areas designated for off-road vehicle use shall be promulgated as special regulations. Section 4.10 also provides that the designation of routes and areas shall comply with E.O. 11644 and with section 1.5 of Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations."
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm "I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you" ... IMO ya aren't doing such a swell job of explaining it to me, but I am trying to do my best to understand ... words like "excessive closures" and "coexisting with birds" are but buzz words that folks like you throw around, but really do not explain anything.
