Sea levels will rise along coast

I was right! I've been expecting sea levels to rise since the end of the last ice age. I mean, where is all of that ice water supposed to go? I suppose sea levels will decline again at the start of the next ice age.....

Sea level has been rising for a long time and at steady rate of millimeters per year. But what wasn't mentioned in that article is according to the report, the areas with the highest rates occurring on the northern coast, primarily due to greater rates of land subsidence, or sinking.

Squishy,

Again you, your ego and dr bub do not recognize the obvious ... the part that humans play on climate change.

Matthew, I liked it better when you used your other screen name ... what do you consider "a long time"?

Ha ha Penis, you're a piece of work....Or something.
Now how would you explain what caused melting at the end of the Pleistocine Glacial Period 12,000 years ago? Dinosaur farts?

I never used any other screen name, you have confused me with some one else. The rate of rise has not accelerated or decelerated over the past 160 years according to records that are being kept.

Matthew,

I was not born yesterday nor at midnight. Not to worry, many of your ilk use multiple screen names. i.e., iron will (or is it iron maiden)

You refer to Univ. of CO in both of your screen names and like to cherry pick information from that site. Ya might want to read more information on the subject.

I'm not going to get drawn into a big debate about sea level rise, but I do want to say that I've known fishingeek as fishingeek on many forums since 2004. If he uses another name, I don't know it, nor do I really care. Calling him out for a screen name which seems perfectly legit to me seems, well...petty.

well, well, well, ya don't want to address any issues just list your judgment on what you think is petty. That seems pretty petty to me! If ya don't care, then why bother to post? -sigh-

Denise Emily,

Never knew you were a conspiracy theorist, old fella.

Look past the UCo data source on the first graph and tell us where the latitude and longitude is in relation to the OBX.

While you're at it, do the same for the next graph.

After that , tell us how the observations vary from the WITN projections.

We'll wait.

Yo Judy K.,

As you stated, you do not care to discuss something as trivial as how climate change is effecting the Outer Banks; however this is an golden opportunity for you to expound on the virtues of your long time message board buds. As for me, I find their childish behavior pathetic.

Naw, it is not beating a dead horse. It is recognizing that man can made a difference in climate change.

As a child I can remember the news of the Cuyahoga River in Ohio literally burning because of man's lack of concern of the river environment. When people realized that they could make a difference they did and look at the environmental condition of the river today.

The first step is recognition of man's influence on climate change and the next step is taking action to help control that.

Typing about it or ignoring it is the easy part, doing something about it is another matter.

I was at Colgate in the 1990s. A colleague that started in the 1960s told me about the removal of phosphates from laundry detergent.

The president summoned the CEOs of Colgate and P&G to DC. Took them to the Potomac, and it was covered in foam. "Do something about this!"
