Online Property searches

What's the deal with on-line OBX rental property searches? Most of them work well enough, but I have yet to find a site that lets you filter or even sort on price. It takes me forever to find what I'm looking for (maybe that's the point) even after I enter my minumum criteria for bedrooms and location. I'm forced to sort through dozens of gigantic homes that cost 3 times what I'm looking to spend, and dozens of tiny rundown bungalows that I wouldn never consider visiting let alone live in for a week.

OK, thanks for letting me vent. Anyone know why they leave out price search?

Good question, Ace. I wonder why they don't do that too. I'm sure theres an underlying reaso, I just can't imagine what it is...

Try Joe Lamb Jr there houses list the price right on the page not only that they list by the amount of bedrooms so if you put down 3 bedrooms it will start with those and work its way up to those big houses.

We use Carolina Designs and I can select a specific number of bedrooms with a price maximum and will give me results that match what I have chosen. I've looked through some other realtors but I only looked according to area I wanted to rent (oceanfront, oceanside, etc.) and gave me what I asked for, all homes in oceanfront or oceanside. Some can be friendly and others downright hard to use.

i think that sorting by bedrooms, and extras(pool, elevator) and location usually gives me the price range i want, i know i can't get a 7 bedroom oceanfront in hatteras for under $1500-200 offseason, so i have to pay that price or change my variables to meet my needs, i do know that the vacation books usually make it very easy to compare prices,,,,, most houses are in the same price range as comparable houses,
it usually doesnt bother me to investigate , i enjoy looking at the houses, and i probably know more about most of them than the rental agencies...

Outer Beaches Realty let you sort by price. That's one reason I usually use them. That , plus the fact that they don't jack their price back up for Thanksgiving and Christmas week.
