Ramp 44 closed.......Again

I guess the NPS noticed too many people were enjoying themselves recreating on the beach at Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreation Area, and walking out to the point. So they closed it down, leaving only about 500 yards of beach open at ramp 43. I suspect that they will report that they spotted alleged amorous avion activity out there, so under the rules, they must close the beaches to all motorists and pedestrians. Sorry if you were planning on using the beach here on your vacation, but if you make the trip up to KDH you will be welcomed on the beach with open arms. Please be sure to leave your canopy when leave so it can be counted by the bean counter for his sensus.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm it is Saturday, which makes it troll day for ya Squiddy. Come to think of it every day is troll day for squiddy.

You did not mention that there is still much beach at CHNS to be enjoyed by ORV users and every ORV user is notified when they apply and get their permits that that seasonal closures may be in effect.

Ya finally got something right ... The folks in town beautiful KDH will welcome you with open arms, but because of seasonal closures will not allow yor ORVs on the beach.

Of course I would like to add that town beautiful KDH and Nags Head have put into effect the ban of beach gear and canopies overnight and should you not comply you will be receiving a notice on your gear ... yippiee the early morning views are fantastic.

Stay positive ... we're counting on you!

I'm sitting on the beach next to my specialized truck you bonehead, but I was counting on your reply. I must be using good bait to troll up a sloth like you so quickly. For the last couple weeks it was a half mile walk to the point but thanks to morons like you it's now closed to humans. Only birds can enjoy "Our" beaches. How much have you paid for our beach Denny Senior? That's right, jack, zippo, zilch. I paid my $120.00 plus $13.00 for shipping, so shut your yap and enjoy your week at the beach.

hmmmmmmmmmmm ya tell me that "I'm sitting on the beach next to my specialized truck", then you proceed to tell me how the beach is closed... stop whining will ya. Rite again, "Our" beach and "WE" can use it any time; however if anyone wants to use their ORV on the beach at CHNS they gotta pay to play ... makes sense to me. Enjoy your vacation at "OUR" beach and we'll wave to you when you as you pass through town beautiful KDH on your way back home to Potomac, MD.

BTW, ya had a fit when you thought I was reading the OBC on the beach a bit ago soooooooooooooooo why don't you practice what you preach?

Love the picture, it is sooooooooooooo you. Perhaps you can use it for your Christmas card ... all your folks would appreciate your classy message and hand gesture.

Not sure JK, I left quickly in disgust. It's easily one and a half miles to the point from the closure. Everybody seemed content in walking to the point from the last closure, but the NPS has made it out of range for most to make the hike in the sand now.

Pennis, according to the GPS tracker my NSA freinds put under your dashboard, you're still in Frednecksburg. They also gave me wav. files of your telephone conversations. Pretty boring stuff. Thanks for thinking that I live in the rather affluent Potomac area, but you're wrong again. (Remember, I don't have any Sisters named Sharon.) You should get some NSA friends, and maybe even you could be right from time to time.

We slayed the spanish last weekend and were happy that the walk was so short (can't believe i have to say that). We came back yesterday only to see almost everything closed and the walk multiplied by 4. Did not even stay in the "holding pen" they call ramp 43. Went to 49 and was happy to see a good amount of beach open. The troll Dennis needs to make a call to the NPS since clearly, too many people were having a good time on the beach.

SPQ-closed to pedestrians, too?

I attempted to do the walk to the point a few weeks ago, in the sand as instructed with no footprints left behind. The first closure to ORV vehicles allowed restricted ped access as outlined above.

It then opened to ORV as I continued south. The next restriction was clearly marked as ZERO access even though the no footprints left behind was clearly still an option for me..

Long story short, I could not walk to the point without a risk of being fined.. I will leave the debate of why up to all of you, the only thing that comes to mind for me is "because they can".

Humans, what a species...

As has been made amply clear at the mtgs re new regs.

Update on this : Just got back from the Point.
Did the usual walk, sought out a Ranger who validated that if I stayed in the water I was fine.. Nice guy..
Water was an amazing 75 degrees.... Left not a footprint behind....

Judy, I hope this answers your question on pedestrian access. I will keep all up to date if this changes as this is a usual walking route I take...

Robert,
You just have to take Squiddy in stride and sometimes throw him a bone so he can get the attention which he probably did not get as a child.

A few of his message board buddies fuel him on with their equally useless posts, but it does help him with his attention needs.

Sure, the picture he posted is classless and in viewing it I noticed he could not quite figgure out exactly what finger to raise and he even had a classless picture behind him to go by for instruction.

Yeah, classless, but that is our Squiddy. I must admit he is one chic dresser. My 7 yo Granddaughter has shorts very similar and blue flip flops just like the squids.

I saved the classless picture in a folder I named Dumb A$$ stuff and that should make the squishy happy.

Be careful now, since he does not have a life, he will try and get into yours and should that happen I am sure he will find yours much more exciting than mine.

That's my thumb you moron. Maybe it's time for the 2.75 glasses? There are many more signs on the island just like this one, but you wouldn't know that because you rarely travel there.
(Oh, one G in figure will suffice.)

Anyone who has kept up with the closure, knows what areas will be closed every summer (from Avon to Hatteras), it like clock work, same areas every year, 34 closed (or open only to the right once you go on the ramp, thanks for the 1/8 mile), 38 open, the point why bother with the 100 yards or so, 49 always has closure to left side once you come over the ramp, sometime it right at the ramp sometimes it a 1/4 mile or so from the ramp, and at 55 you get 2 milesish, it been the same every summer since the closures started.
