That's exactly what we thought. It's hard to tell, but that guy was as big as a VW beetle! I think the Coby was following him for shade!

That's exactly what we thought. It's hard to tell, but that guy was as big as a VW beetle! I think the Coby was following him for shade!


I have only seen a handful over the years. Everyone had at least 1 cobia on it, one BIG girl had over 30 under her!!

Cobia love to follow larger animals, and scavenge off whatever they may get. They especially like to follow Turtles and Rays.

Nice photo looks like leatherback to me too. In th 1960s when we fished the CBBT the bat rays would swim past us by the 1000's all day long.
