Anybody know who's in charge of scheduling the bell ringers this year? Have been volunteering the past several years and did not get a call this year, and have only see two locations with kettles - disappointing! Would love to get back on the list for next year...thanks!

When I was in College (1962 to 1966)in NYC the Salvation Army used to pay Musicians to play on the street. Only Brass instruments. Macy's 34th Street was the Plumb Gig. They paid nominal amounts but I do remember something around $5 an hour

My wife had problems trying to volunteer this year, too. She finally spoke with the person that previously schedule the volunteers. He said the person organizing it this year was very poorly organized and ended up hiring people to ring the bell.

Sorry to hear that, thanks for the info, hard to believe they have to hire people on the Outer Banks...when so many people seem to be willing to volunteer.

It was up here in MA. She wanted to do it and likes to do it every year. The person here never called her back. Sad smiley
