I'm new to this site. Used to fish OBX but it's been 7 or 8 years ago. Fished a lot from the little bridge for trout and flounder.
Plan on coming down around the end of Sept. or 1st of Oct. Does anyone have advice for an angler on foot (wading or from shore)?
I love to fish for trout or flounder and if they are not there whatever is at the time. Primarily fish artificial with the exception of live bait for flounder at times.
Any advice for this period would be much appreciated.
Thanks and Happy 4th!
Welcome. It has been a slowww fishing year soundside this year. We had a hard winter and now with all this rain not even the oysters are doing well. There are a number of places u can hit early in the AM in and around Manteo Best of luck!

The fishing has been terrible this summer. A keeper flounder has been very hard to come by this summer as well.I suggest you speak with a tackle shop near you when you get to the outer banks to see what you can have the best luck with.
I have fished the same areas of the sound for 29 years and the trout bite this spring and early summer was hurting, they were there but they were smaller and few and far between.
