Looking for someone to demolish & remove a trailer

One of my subs' Mother recently passed away and she had a 14' x 70' mobile home in Waves that has sustained flood damage. It is apparently not worth saving and he is looking for someone to cut it up and haul it away.

Does anyone know who might be able to do this for them?
Thanks.

Just drag it over to the ocean and make a rental out of it. Big grin

Good luck - no idea who to ask.

Very interesting question. I know of a large camper in Grandy that the owner might want demolished or towed out.

Oceanfront! That's gotta be worth at least 10,000$ a week in peak season!

All kidding aside, there is a scrap metal place up in currytuck that accepts the haul for recycling if you can get it there. Let me Check on demolition and haul folks. Will advise here or via PM.

You have a location? Can the trailer frame be pulled or does it need to be cut up too?

I was in Rodanthe Sunday and saw a roadside sign advertising for a scrap yard. Maybe contact them to see if they know of anyone who is in that line of work.

I've seen that sign also, and the salvage yard up in currytuck not far from the water park, may be jarvisburg not grandy, just can't recall the name right off.

DART in wanchese may be able to help with a referral if it is not tow worthy?

Alexy my understanding is that it needs to be cut up.

Thanks everyone. I will pass this thread on to him to follow up.

Call Carol Midgett and have him send his guys up there with a sawzall. You could cut that up in a day

I was going to recommend the same. We had them remove a nasty old shed from our property when we bought it, done in one day and super nice guys.

40 CY roll off dumpster and a skid loader with a grapple bucket. Two hours-Buh bye. Clapping smiley

RE: Looking for someone to demolish & remove a trailer

Fire training for CBVFD if they will take it. Then scrap the leftover metal and copious amounts of raking afterwards. It's what my neighbor did.

RE: Looking for someone to demolish & remove a trailer

Demo the structure and haul it load by load to the dump in Buxton, or dumpster it as said..

A torch will be better for quickly cutting up the frame. You're not gonna simply demo that part. The axles can be junked or sold.

The scrap value won't pay for the labor and time involved IMHO....
