Based on the grainy/shakey video it looks like the marine equivalent of the Patterson film. Banana Banana Banana

Weird baitfish pattern or two currents/water temps colliding? Intriguing.

I think it's called a tide line. I was swimming off Pea Island a couple years ago and saw something just like that approaching. When it went through me the temperature in the water jumped at least 10 degrees. The winds were coming from the northeast

As a Charterboat Captain I would say a "Tideline". However the closeness to shore is a question. Tidelines appear everyday outside Oregon Inlet, both North and South but represent the Sound water coming out of the Inletr or the Inshore water meeting the more stable Ocean water. Temps can change up to 8 degrees or more on a Tideline. Never really saw one going from the Surf line out
