Favorite restaurants in the Tri Village area?

We stay in SNH and always enjoy a drive down US 12 to the Tri Village area. We are looking for suggestions for your favorite restaurants in the area. Arriving in two weeks. Thanks.

I have not been in a few years but Goodwinds was always good and a great view.

Watermans Grille - great sunsets, loads to watch with kite surfers, good food. It was a very good experience for us!

The Waves Market & Deli isn't a sit down place. But it has a great lineup of sandwiches. Order ahead as they can get busy.

Waterman's Grill is good as is Waves Market for Deli Sandwiches ( also great beer selection ) and 20 minutes south is Pangea Tavern in Avon!

Lisa's pizza is a classic; Watermans is probably the best food/view, Goodwinds also with a beautiful view; Boardwok South for something different; Waves Market for a to go option.

Top Dog Cafe is one of our favorites. We always drive down for a lunch.

I second what TwentyPSI said...can't go wrong at the Deli. We grab a sandwich with some O rings and head for the beach. As for sit down places, we almost always head out of the villages...unfortunately there are better choices with a little drive north or south.

Ever since the original Down Under (at the pier with Sheila) is gone, the tri villages do not have much to offer...other than Sheila's at the KOA.

When we were there this summer we went to uncle Frank’s. They have hot dogs loaded with different toppings and bbq. We got hot dogs and thought they were great. Not sure if he was the owner or not but while we were waiting we talked to the guy who took our order. He was very friendly. Wed recommend it if you’re just looking for something quick.

We also took some food to go from Atlantic coast coast cafe and really enjoyed it. We were very impressed with the portions and taste.

Have done good winds in the past but didn’t go this time. We love the views. We felt that Atlantic coast cafe was just as good and seemed a little better priced. But the view and ambiance of good winds is better.

Great spot for kids - I'm not sure if they are doing "dine in" so would def check.

Another option is Neptunes (previously, Stingwrays/Uncle Paulies) in Rodanthe. There is a rear outside dining area on the sound for sunset dining. For those extreme partiers - there is also a Thurs kareoke night.

For those driving into the Tri - do call your choice first. Covid closures are pretty much a common occurrence these days.

Agreed to call ahead before coming down.. Been a rough year down here. Top Dog and Boardwok have remained take out only in 2021. Neptunes is open one day, closed the next.

Lisa's is now dine in and has been busy as ever, avoid Saturday as everyone gets a pizza the first day.

My recommendation, pick a nice day. Go to Waterman's before 5. They are swamped by 7. And now close early at 8, also now closed on Sundays.

Goodwinds also for the sunset view, sun is now setting around 7, but also encourage you go early due to staffing.

We call it threading the needle here. You have to be calculated or you will show up to a packed house.

The number of folks on HI is breaking last year's records, but the staffing is not there to keep up with it....

Waterman’s was packed on a random weekday for lunch for when we went there this past May. Food was good, like everywhere else they were dreadfully understaffed.

Bring plenty of patience.

Having said that, they were running a very tight ship with regards to covid. You wait outside the front door until staff allows you to come in, masks were required, one person orders for your party at the bar while everyone else goes outside to sit down.

With delta raging out of control, it’s probably one of the safest restaurants to eat at on all of HI.

Uncle Franks was closed the 3 times we passed it last week. Didn't stop to see why, but I kinda wanted a good hot dog, so I kept looking when we passed.

Definitely call before you go anywhere. Many places were closed for various reasons. After this summer, can't blame them even if it's just to take a break. Sunday and Monday, you're probably going to be eating at home...
