This would be a game changer for OBX. Wawa is probably the single biggest best idea ever thought of in American history. Royal Farms, Sheetz - meh.
The justification for rejecting their variance request for the first Wawa in NC is bizarre. It's not like there aren't several driveways right off the highway (Enterprise/Speedway/Kangaroo/etc) a couple hundred yards away. There's literally a turn-in to what will be the Target directly across the street from this. Right off the highway.
What's the gas price down there? It's $3.39 in northern MD.

Up in Kitty Hawk at the old Foreman lumber site would be a better place for Wawa (or White Castle).
Up in Kitty Hawk at the old Foreman lumber site would be a better place for Wawa (or White Castle). It's too bad Wawa stations have such a big footprint. I could see them on the NW corner of the new Target at the traffic light.
Come on now, Couldn't they build a White Castle?
Wawa's business model is barely profit on gas to drive traffic into their market/deli. Brilliant. Get the meatball it'll change your life.

I live about a mile from a Royal Farms {a Wawa wannabee }and the amount of trash these places produce is amazing .People just toss everything out the window while driving down the road . I am not saying that large stores such as this are the only culprits but it just keeps getting worse all the time !

Don't set your expectations to high. It's a OK meatball sub...My favorite is only sold around Thanksgiving. The hot turkey gobbler. Yummm.I'm curious about the White Castle talk. Are they even expanding? We don't have many around here anymore. My Mom loves them (she's from Indiana), so we'd take her when she visited because there are none in NC.
When South Philly Italians say they have good meatballs that means they're good meatballs. And I'm no South Philly Italian.
