Show us some of your old fishing stuff

I got the idea when I saw Dhart’s old reel on a post yesterday. Show us some of your old reels or lures or any other fishing related stuff. I’ll start off an old reel I picked up a few years ago.

Here’s a reel made by the Lionel Train Company

These are old rods and reels we have mounted in our loft space in our beach cottage. They belonged to my father in law. He would be 110 if he were still with us. They are old....not sure if worth anything, but cool to put on our wall!

I have never been a person that kept old equipment. I see a lot of stuff in stores down here and I am learning that some of these old Penn Reels can fetch a solid price though.

That said I just don't keep things

RE: Show us some of your old fishing stuff

Check out the price on that.

Some old lures.

RE: Show us some of your old fishing stuff

One more lure

RE: Show us some of your old fishing stuff

Some old some not.

Md. Chas: your antiques are great. I especially like the graphics on the Penn box and the Bud lure is so cute!

Chief: nice looking lures and I love it that you display them in a shadow box. Such a conversation piece!

My husband always asks me to look for old lures while I am out at estate sales. I haven't come across any keepers yet, but it's the thrill of the hunt.

I love this kind of stuff and my sisters and I have an antique consignment booth and this is our hobby as retirees. I would love to find some retro lures to "lure " in the men shoppers in my booth!

I love nautical items and the older, the better!

If you are looking for some old lures or antique fishing equipment try the Great Bridge Fishing Association annual flea market in Chesapeake on March 12 at the Chesapeake Conference center.
They usually have a bunch of everything from boats and the latest gadgets to 100 year old rods.

That looks cool. How do you actually mount them to the wall? I recently had the last of my Dad's fishing rods restored and was thinking of mounting it.

Thank you! We just nailed in some tiny little nails and mounted it that way. Just kinda held it within the nails. Just old nostalgic rods we really wanted to show. It's easy. We're novices with this. Put nails under the rods and they held it. Good stuff!

Have a great night and send your dad's fishing pole pics!!!!!!

Staggerlee: I have been attempting to send you two pics of the nails that we used to attach these old fishing poles and they won't go through. I will send them to you tomorrow once I get to a place where they will send. Just something wrong with trying to send them tonight. I took two pics to send you...close ups so that you could see how we attached them. I will get them to you tomorrow! Many thanks for your patience!!!

Thanks Bentmtn. I will post a pic of my Dad's fishing rod as soon as I procure a vintage reel for it.
