Everything was out.. Again. This is the 3rd time and getting old. Had to drive to Nags Head to work. Another Fiber Optic cable cut. You would think by now they know what one looks like.

Hard to believe in this day and age that a redundant link following a completely different route hasn't been established. This is pretty common practice particularly for government facilities. As someone in the field, I understand that there are costs, some rather large, for installing this redundancy but it can be offset by the revenue that can be created by providing additional or new services.
We have been very happy with Starlink.
We have been very happy with Starlink. $39 a month with Silicon Travel vs. $120 a month with Starlink...I think I'll continue to take the change of cut lines.
Well we are in rural South Jersey and don’t have access to Silicon Travel or any cable. Comcast wants to charge us $9000 (that’s 9 thousand!) to run a line from the south end of our property (where they have a line )to our house (about 300 ft).We are thrilled to have Starlink. We very rarely have any problems and when there is it usually corrects within a minute or two.Plus we can travel with it if we’d like.
All communication shut down. Starlink will not fix that part.

Totally agree...but the down times of CL of late have been crazy (not just talking the fiber cut of last week). If one relies on the interwebz to work it can get problematic. Also, some folks need (I guess) the vastly faster StarLink speed. I have been told that Spectrum now provides significantly better uptimes as they now have their own feed to HI (vs, riding on the CL leg as they had been).
