Will shut down the secret (zero) forum, but someone has found a new a bug. Not as exciting as posting in the secret forum, but still impressive.

"No it is never checked by the rental company on turn over. They change it when the renter calls to say it is empty." Figures, why save a trip when you can make an extra $50 for an emergency delivery. And force the renter to make a phone call while their food gets cold.

Just have a charcoal grill. That's what we had. One less thing. Bentmtn Weber kettles last and can be moved out of the wind. The grates need replacing every year but can be had anywhere.

Unfortunately, those days are long gone. I grew up in South Jersey and live up there for over 20 years. I married a Shamokin (Polish/Slovak ) girl; The Wedding at the West End Hose Company in the same town. The same engine company at which I served as Captain for 8 years. City Chief for 6. The wedding went for 3 days. Great times. Thanks for the reminder.

Right now, the post has been viewed 4,560 times. 161 likes is only about 3.5% of the viewers liking this post. Even with repeat views it's not unheard of for a popular post to draw that many likes. I agree that some ex-members may spend a lot of time trying to derail this forum, but I don't see that phony likes would derail anything.

For people that rent it is still the sticker shock so I believe the likes are probably real. Why I paid "double" was because my daughter really needs a vacation, ( after 2 years of disappointments and injuries that sucked up their paid vacation time). And yes originally I avoided the OBX prices and opted for Florida before the Seaweed blob thats 5000 miles in length lurks down there. I cant risk it and I know the outer banks Ocean and Sound and everything in between.

I'm not so sure about that J4. Right now, the post has been viewed 4,560 times. 161 likes is only about 3.5% of the viewers liking this post. Even with repeat views it's not unheard of for a popular post to draw that many likes. I agree that some ex-members may spend a lot of time trying to derail this forum, but I don't see that phony likes would derail anything. Squid Pro Quo Discussions on inflation are always a topic of interest IMO. Either you are profiting from higher prices or if like me on a fixed income feeling the pinch of higher prices.

I can’t afford a Maserati. I instead buy a Ford. Maserati isn’t greedy. I just can’t afford it. I think that the "greed" comes in when you jack up the price to take advantage of a situation. The Maserati is always expensive. If Ford starts selling Fords priced like Maserati's because inflation is happening, and hey, people expect high prices, that's the greed. Perfectly legal, but greed. I started searching last week for a late summer get away. The Banks are no longer the best value - I can tell you that. Tybee, Emerald Isle, Surf City, Pawley's - all are less expensive than comparable places on the banks. Our first family vacation was for $99 per night, ocean front with an efficiency kitchen, in the summer. Same room is now $382. Just crazy. That hotel room with 2 beds and kitchenette is the same cost as an ocean front 2 bedroom condo at other locations.

Tybee, Emerald Isle, Surf City, Pawley's - all are less expensive than comparable places on the banks. That hotel room with 2 beds and kitchenette is the same cost as an ocean front 2 bedroom condo at other locations. DeanK Agree. I had a lot more for the money in Florida. With the seaweed 5000 mile thing drifting in the Atlantic, I went back to the outer banks. With my luck the 5000 mile seaweed will visit me in July. If we didnt have a 4 yr old along I would have taken a chance. Shes all about the beach and water.

Same month, basically same dates. We are going again this year and its $490 more expensive (4 nights) its everywhere

Seek and ye shall find. A 3 bedroom 2 bathroom house, waterfront with a dock, screenhouuse with a pool, hot tub and outdoor tv surrounded by mangroves (no swimsuits needed ), fishing gear, beach gear and two kayaks...3500 a week in Marathon, Florida Keys. All the iguanas you ever wanted for free.
