I have reservations at 6:00 PM this Saturday for WinterLights at the Elizabethan Gardens and am looking to book a dinner reservation at Blue Moon in Nags Head afterwards. To those who have been to WinterLights, about how long should I allow? Thanks.
It's hard to say. It depends on how much you like lighted gardens. You could probably get through it in 15 minutes at a fast walk, if you wanted to. Then, there's a gift shop I believe, and some of you might want to spend a lot of time there. The weather will determine how many people show up, and the more people there, the more time it will take to get parked, get into the gardens, and then get back out. If you plan on taking a lot of photos, add more time for that.
I would say 90 minutes, with maybe 30 of that for the drive to Blue Moon and time spent on site but not in the gardens. But there are just too many variables with unknown times, including Saturday night traffic. I'd say you should be back in your car leaving with 30 minutes left minimum. This will be a difficult event to manage down to the minute.
