Of course I got up an hour early this morning for no reason....

RE: Into the dark and cold...

Yep BF and it's cold this morning too. Hello winter, right on time you are.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

I prefer the light earlier in the morning, but don't like it getting dark earlier. Luckily, with Frisco's south facing beach, I'm able to capture a different sunset look there instead of rushing back to the house to take some shots over the Pamlico. The colors on the shore at sunset are out of this world!

I did however, have frozen hands Halloween night taking some shots on the beach.

I'm happy about the early morning light too, Bent. But getting dark at 5 will take some adjustment. I have a spot light for the grills around here somewhere, I just need to find it. The garage is chaos right now, but yardwork needs to be done today.

Oh well, it's Sunday. Got a loaf of bread rising and all the fixins for a clam chowder supper.

I don't know a single person that is a fan of DST, and never have.

I don't know a single person that wouldn't say, "Standard time or daylight time, don't care. Pick one and LEAVE IT."

Couldn't resist this one...

I'm running around the cottage trying to change clocks and such, and my bearings have had it! Drove down to ramp 49 and had to stop at Frisco Rod and Gun and looked down at my feet and I had forgotten my shoes! Nice weather and time change threw me for a loop! Snuck in without shoes.....

French bread is done and butter is softening on the counter. The sun is down and the temp is dropping... yay!

Or maybe not...

RE: Into the dark and cold...

Getting a complaint from management that it's 7 o'clock and dinner ain't ready yet.

No, it's 6 o'clock. And there's a nice fire going...Go get warm, it's almost ready...

RE: Into the dark and cold...

Briny, buttery and herby. A grand slam. Rhode Island style chowder is my second favorite. Portuguese is my absolute #1 favorite, but I didn't have enough time today.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

Sorry, but I like the time just the way it is now, DST for spring, summer, fall and ST for winter. I/we adjust in a day. If I had to choose just one way, it would be DST year round. Your mileage may vary.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

I'm all for year round DST. I've never known anyone to not prefer DST as the year round option if we could choose. Any way I slice and dice it... it's going to be dark in the morning when I get up during the winter so I'd rather have the extra hour tacked on to the end of the day so I have a small chance at some daylight after work to do things outdoors.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

I would agree that DST is better of the two. But as was already said, pick one and stick with it. People will adapt quickly either way.

Weather is about to blow down from the north so we're about to experience a sampling of the cold part by Monday next week.

Edit; just checked and the OBX is going to get a taste too.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

Supposed to have an "arctic blast" next week. I don't think one night down to 24 qualifies.

RE: Into the dark and cold...

One night? Does not qualify as a blast. A blip maybe.
