Grand Daughters coming this weekend want to fish

My daughter is coming down this weekend for several days with her two girls, 9 & 12. They got pink fishing rods for Christmas and want to try them out. I have a twin Grady White with head so no problem with the boat, but trying to figure the best place to take them to catch anything. I thought of Green Slough, thinking (weather permitting) it would be nice, but don't know if there is anything biting this time of year. Suggestions appreciated.

Sound fishing right now is being done to the West. Not familiar, but I'm told it's "Not Around The Corner". That's where the best warm water is. Trout are being caught. Green Island, you can try but too much cold water coming in and out of the inlet. Watch out for construction stuff in the bridge area. Twin Grady? Why not take them "Outside" for good action with Doggies! Wait for no wind. Try the Zane Gray Area (A/R 160) or A/R 145. Children love catching Sharks even if they have no teeth. Fight like hell and good eating. You need sturdy boat or heavy spinning rods. Use anything for bait and don't use small hooks. Have fun.

Thanks for the advice, I never thought about the cooler water in Green Slough. Taking them outside would be great assuming the weather cooperates, otherwise I would have a boat full of freaked out grandkids.
