This is a very nice aquarium and a great place to spend a rainy or cool day when your family doesn’t want to be at the beach or the pool.

Like most local aquariums they focus a lot on the local ecology, so it is interesting for even adults who are curious to learn more about the Banks.

The sea turtle rehab area is great as are the hands on exhibits.

You can easily pair a visit to the aquarium with a stroll through Manteo’s historic downtown and make a nice day of it.

If you plan ahead you can often find drop-off classes for kids held during the week where the aquarium staff will lead small groups of youngsters on outings around the aquarium.
