When we rented a golf cart the guy there said to try this place and I am sure glad I asked. We went in the off season and we still had to wait at the bar for 10 min to get a table. It was well worth the wait! Our meals were both fantastic and the service was very good but there normal summer staff was gone so those there were working hard. No problem, all was great and you really need to stop here for dinner. I will go back for sure.

We always hit the Flying Melon for breakfast. Got to have the sweet potato pancakes with orange butter; everything is delicious and the service is friendly.

IMO, best food on the island. Michael focuses on fresh seafood elegantly prepared with a hit of his New Orleans heritage. Duck is almost always on the menu and is AWESOME. Great brunches too! Beginning in May 2013, Flying Melon is moving to their own building currently under construction next to the current firehouse on the Back Rd. across from Ocracoke Coffee.
